My Past Experiences

In my first year of the B.Ed program at UVic I did my three week practicum at the Greater Victoria Compost Eduction Centre. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity of doing an alternative practicum while I could. From there I learnt many things; to always consider your teaching environment, that grade sixes will understand sarcastic humour better than the little ones, and that high school students can do things a lot faster than elementary kids. It was a great experience and I am grateful to my mentor teacher Nashira for taking me in and showing me all of the wonderful things about compost education.

The past summer I was able to go through another educational experience. I went to a small village in El Castillo to teach at a multigrade school.
